Sean Patrick Hannity (born December 30, 1961) is an American conservative television presenter, broadcaster and writer. He hosts The Sean Hannity Show, a nationally syndicated talk radio show, and has also hosted a self-titled political commentary program on Fox News since 2009. Hannity worked as a general contractor and volunteered as a talk show host at UC Santa Barbara in 1989. He later joined WVNN in Athens, Alabama, and shortly afterward, WGST in Atlanta. After leaving WGST, he worked at WABC in New York until 2013. Since 2014, Hannity has worked at WOR. In 1996, Hannity and Alan Colmes co-hosted Hannity & Colmes on Fox. After Colmes announced his departure in January 2008, Hannity merged the Hannity & Colmes show into Hannity. Hannity has said he is not a journalist, and he has been characterized as a propagandist. He has promoted conspiracy theories, such as "birtherism" (claims that then-President Barack Obama was not a legitimate U.S. citizen), claims regarding the murder of Seth Rich, falsehoods about Hillary Clinton's health, and false claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Hannity was an early supporter of Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election and often acted as an unofficial spokesman for him. When Trump was president, White House advisors characterized Hannity as the "shadow" chief of staff, and he reportedly phoned the White House and spoke to Trump most weeknights. According to Forbes, by 2018 Hannity had become one of the most-watched hosts in cable news and most-listened-to hosts in talk radio, due in part to his closeness and access to Trump. He privately urged Trump administration officials before and during the January 6 United States Capitol attack to cease some of their efforts to retain the presidency and to urge Trump's supporters to leave the Capitol. Hannity was among the hosts named in the Dominion Voting Systems v. Fox News Network defamation lawsuit for broadcasting false statements about the plaintiff company's voting machines that Fox News settled for $787.5 million and required Fox News to acknowledge that the broadcast statements were false. Hannity has an honorary degree from Liberty University. He won awards from the National Association of Broadcasters in 2003 and 2007. He has written three New York Times best-selling books: Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Liberty over Liberalism; Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism; and Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama's Radical Agenda, and released a fourth, Live Free or Die, in 2020.

With President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, the GOP controls the White House and both houses of Congress. Conservatives also hold a 6-3 supermajority on the Supreme Court. He noted that she had stumbled earlier in the year and questioned what he said were “weird pauses” in her speech. Clinton ended up releasing her medical records in September 2016 after she had a health scare due to pneumonia. This week, Hannity called Trump’s entry into the garbage truck an “iconic, epic moment.” Trump, 78, has declined to share any detailed health records, despite mounting public concern about his cognitive state. He has given increasingly rambling and incoherent speeches and has behaved erratically on the campaign trail, prompting hundreds of health care professionals to sound the alarm about his condition and fitness for office. Referring to Kamala Harris' friendship with a Disney executive whose portfolio includes the news organization, Trump suggested Harris is "going to get the questions in advance." Hours before his sit-down with Hannity, campaigns for both presidential candidates had agreed to rules for the debate, which include the stipulation that neither candidate would receive any of the questions or topics in advance, the New York Times reports. That's a strategy that so far has only succeeded in giving Jon Stewart more material to mock Trump with. And apparently, being the butt of jokes hasn't deterred the Trumpists from flailing wildly in hopes of landing a blow on the far more intelligent and nimble Harris campaign. To the contrary, they just continue to double down on their dopey diatribes that inevitably hurt themselves more than their opponents. Z NEWS NOTE: Of course the American Right Wing always believes in the First Amendment except when they don't. I don't have to agree with everything Rachel Maddow says but I endorse her right to say it. Personally I dont believe Trump should be given any air time to air his self imposed grievances and that is all his rallies have become: grievance, hatred, and anger. And, of course, his letting you know he is doing that for YOU. #doh
Fox News, Sean Hannity responded to Maddow in an article titled Does Rachel Maddow not have any self-awareness at all? : He wrote: "As you just heard during his victory speech, Donald Trump struck what was a unifying tone. Uh, but apparently, according to part-time make-believe journalists and full-time left-wing, hate Trump conspiracy theorists like radical Rachel Maddow" Funny how they project "conspiracy theorist" back at her when most of the time Hannity spends his whole show (Now coming from Florida) creating conspiracies to push on his mostly uneducated viewers. The he writes: "No one in the media mob has peddled more lies, more conspiracy theories than Rachel Maddow." That, of course, is funny because between Hannity, Watters and Ingraham they have the corner on pushing faux conspiracies. But they have competition from Newsmax and dozens of right wing bloggers who , for need of traffic to fund their click bait, know that the ones who will swallow the lies the most are Maga (uneducated, of course). Hannity made a very big deal of it on both his radio show yesterday and on his TV show last night. January 3, 2024: Sean Hannity: “If anybody is listening to this program for any length of time, been threatening now to do this for quite a while. But we are now beginning our first broadcast of my new home, and that is in the free state of Florida. I am out. I am done. I’m finished. New York, New York. Goodbye. Florida. Florida. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. But it’s great to be here
August 16, 2024: Hannity: "Trump has nothing to do with Project 2025 as she keeps claiming. Clearly he knows nothing about it."
November 5, 2024: Hannity: We are all looking at our sources. I’m listening very closely to everything Harold has to say and what he’s offering. But if that is true, after all that they have thrown at this man, after all that they have done to this man and to with all the media that wouldn’t even vet her and her radical positions, that the only person in the media that challenged her in any reasonably tough way is sitting right here at this table. And that was you, Bret. And to think she never had to answer why she doesn’t think we should say radical Islamic terrorism, why she wasn’t asked about supporting a bail fund, 574 riots in the summer of 2024 or co-sponsoring the Green New Deal or saying no private health insurance, Medicare for All or sex change operations for illegal immigrants. What will this say, Brit? Well, Brit. About legacy media in America. It’s dead.
November 6, 2024: Hannity: The President-elect, Donald Trump, will work tirelessly within the bounds of the Constitution to make America great again, safer, freer, more prosperous, and a better place for all Americans. That’s his mandate—no more lawfare, no more censorship, lower taxes, lower interest rates, a secure border – the biggest national security threat we have, better trade policies, safer streets, no more woke madness and insanity, fewer regulations, lower prices at the grocery store and gas stations. This is what you, all of you, the American people, voted for. This is what Donald Trump ran on and will try to deliver on. November 7, 2024: Hannity: Very few Americans care what anyone in the state-run media mob or Hollywood have to say. Now, think about this. They were all against Donald Trump. Did they win? They all were in unison, hating Trump. Their influence is officially done. It's gone. It is dead. Now, on this very program in 2007, I said "journalism in America is dead." I had no idea how right I really was. Here we are in 2024, and I can officially declare legacy media, Hollywood Influence, celebrity influence in America is dead. Now think about what they did to Donald Trump before his sweeping victory. By the way, he did win the popular vote, too. November 7, 2024: Citimuzic Reported: Sean Hannity has a net worth of $300 million. In May 2008, he and his wife, Jill, bought a 10,600-square-foot waterfront mansion on Long Island for $10.5 million. The estate includes seven bedrooms, a private dock, swimming pool, tennis court, and a par-3 golf course. December 18, 2024: Hannity: Tonight, it appears that Donald Trump will be faced with yet another Biden-era disaster when he takes office in January. This one might involve a government shutdown. Now, that continuing resolution now in Congress, it is a total, unmitigated disaster. It’s hard to fathom after this election that these elected officials, they think that the government, as usual – the swamp as usual – is going to continue. It’s not. This would fund the government through March, but at what cost? Raise the debt ceiling. At what cost? Why should Donald Trump have to raise the debt ceiling when it’s Joe Biden’s problem? Now, this bill is over 1,500 pages. It spends so lavishly on pet projects – let’s see, a new bridge in Baltimore along with an additional $100 billion for vague disaster relief programs and another 10 billion in farm subsidies. The resolution also expands the federal bureaucracy, funding a new Office of Telecommunications Spectrum Management and a new National Blockchain Deployment Advisory Committee. The spending bill also gives the state of Maryland a group of National Guard fighter jets. It also transfers ownership of RFK Stadium from the federal government to Washington, D.C. Why are we giving them our stadium? January 4, 2022:
The Jan. 6 select committee is preparing to ask Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity for his voluntary cooperation with its investigation of the assault on the U.S. Capitol. Hannity may have been a part of it, so I am thinking "voluntary" is out of the question. Subpoena, then, maybe. December 22, 2022: NPR reported: "I did not believe it for one second," Hannity testified, according to an attorney for Colorado-based Dominion Voting Systems, who was offering it as a precise quote. Meade Cooper, Fox News' executive vice president, "confirmed under oath she never believed the lies about Dominion," the Dominion attorney, Stephen Shackelford, Jr., also said.
Dec 22, 2022: NPR reported: Fox News star Sean Hannity – one of former President Donald Trump's strongest allies on the air and one of his closest advisers off it – admitted under oath that he never believed the lie that Trump was cheated of victory in the 2020 presidential election by a voting tech company. ON THE RECORD: Jan 22, 2014: Colin Campbell, on New York Observer's Politicker posted an article titled "Conservative Pundits Weigh In on Cuomo ‘No Place in the State’Controversy." Campbell reports that Fox News' Sean Hannity has threatened to leave the state because of comments made by New York governor Andrew Cuomo, who was reported to have said that “extreme conservatives, who are right-to-life, pro-assault weapon, anti-gay … have no place in the state of New York.” Cuomo's staff has claimed the comments were taken out of context and they posted a completed transcript on the governors website. The part in question reads: "You’ve seen that play out in New York, their SAFE act, the Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act. It was voted for by moderate republicans who run the Senate. Their problem is not me and democrats, their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives, who are right to life, pro assault weapon, anti-gay, is that who they are? Because if that is who they are, and if they are the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York. Because that is not who New Yorkers are." Frankly, I don't think the transcript is any better. It's still directed at conservatives and implies they have no business in government in the state of New York. Cuomo goes on to say that "Moderate republicans like in the Senate right now and control the senate, Moderate republicans have a place in this state." this just comes off to me as what has become typical for Democrats and Progressives to write off conservatives a some sort of lunatic fringe that really has no business doing anything in government except to shut up and obey it. Maybe conservatives just need to step up and announce that they are gay. I mean there's never any litmus test for "gayness" so after announcing your conservative beliefs and goals, throw in that "Oh BTW, I am gay." Suddenly you are a victim (but with convictions) who can say just about anything and the mainstream media will let it go. Just a thought
ON THE RECORD: Jan 27, 2014: President Obama is scheduled to give the annual Sate of the Union address tomorrow night. Bill Straub (PJ Media) reports that the "State of the Union Guests Range from Obama’s DREAMers to Benghazi Dad" Also on that list is Sean Hannity. According to Straub: "Hannity, who recently drew attention as a result of his vow to leave New York where Gov. Andrew Cuomo has made him and other conservatives feel unwelcome, was invited to the generally staid affair by Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-Texas), a frequent guest on Hannity’s show who shares his views."

Washington Post: The political exhibitionism of the State of the Union Z-News Notes: Feb 21, 2014: Ann Coulter and TV host Sean Hannity clashed over the tactics being used by some Tea Party lawmakers in Washington. While Hannity commended lawmakers for taking a stand for their principles, Coulter suggested the movement is being hijacked by “con men” who are “tricking Americans to send them money.” Coulter also criticized Tea Party lawmakers who are focusing on “defeating establishment Republicans” instead of Democrats because the party should be united in taking back the Senate in 2014 — regardless of which Republicans get elected to office. The ultimate goal should be to repeal Obamacare, she said. Apr 5, 2014: On her show last Wednesday, Megyn Kelly announced that she would not publicly identify the shooter involved in the recent Fort Hood killings: "Authorities are identifying the shooter. If you are interested you can get his name on other shows, like the one that preceded this one, and online, but we have decided not to name these mass killers here as a policy here on the Kelly File. Too often it is infamy they seek, and we decline to help." Fox News Sean Hannity also followed suit. Kelly told Bill O'Reilly last year: "I really think I’m at the point where I no longer want to utter the names of these people at all. I think we should all do it. If they want to find out the names of these people who do this, who shoot up places or take themselves out in a blaze of glory, go look it up online." I think the move is a great move. Quite often in shootings that end in suicide, the shooter thinks he will gain some kind of notoriety or fame and his name will be remembered (though not for anything great). But we all know who shot President Kennedy and his brother, and even remember the name of the person who attempted to kill President Reagan. We should not make legends out of cowardly murderers who take others with them just before they take their own life.

Hannity Guests Battled Over ‘Lawless’ Obama Admin For ‘Luring’ Mexican Immigrants With Food Stamps. Monday night on his Fox News show, Sean Hannity, examined a recent report that shows how the U.S. and Mexican governments are apparently working together encouraging undocumented immigrants in the United States to apply for the food stamp program Sept 24, 2013: Sean Hannity had this to say about Ted Cruz on his radio show: "Ted Cruz reminds me a little bit of Reagan in this sense. Reagan was despised when he challenged the sitting president, Gerald Ford for the nomination in 1976, despised. But he did lay the foundation to win the election in 1980. Every Republican loves Reagan, but he wasn’t loved at the time. He was called extreme by fellow Republicans. "

Bob Livingston (R-LA) — who “abruptly resigned after disclosures of numerous affairs” in 1998 — he argued that an extramarital affair was grounds for resignation. Hannity says Sen Vitter should resign. July 23, 2006: Huffington Post reported: It's no secret to anyone who's accidentally tuned into the Hannity & Colmes show on Fox News and thought they stumbled across an over-the-top Saturday Night Live sketch, that Sean Hannity doesn't have a real firm grasp on reality.I mean, this is the same man who once offered a liberal guest the Hobson's choice of "Is it that you hate this president or that you hate America?" Hannity's also been known to claim that the Constitution doesn't say anything about the separation of church and state and, in a May 2004 edition of his television show, asked a clergyman if they could "pray for the re-election of George Bush." July 27, 2004: OpEdNews reported: Sean Hannity is shameless. His tactics vary, but one of the favorites he utilizes is to repeat a lie, usually in catch phrase form, over and over, so it resonates with the viewers. The phrase for Edwards that Hannity hammered, was junk science. The implication is that Edwards is an ambulance chaser, who doesn't care if the methods he uses are not ethical. All of these accusations from Hannity, are of course, junk. Hannity never offers any proof as to what he even means by "junk science". At the time Edwards was a trial lawyer making these arguments, the defense used by Edwards was widely accepted as truth. Now, years later there certainly are other reasons for possible defects, most notably still being doctor negligence. Hannity then tries to tie this to the increase in medical costs and insurance. This drivel is often espoused by people on the right, who are owned by the insurance companies, but that doesn't make it any more truthful. The truth is that there is no relationship between increased insurance costs and legal action against doctors. Of course, the GOP talking points are that we need to cap monetary awards for plaintiffs, because the awards are driving up the cost of malpractice insurance. These talking points are devoid of truth, but are necessary for the GOP when you see how much money has been donated to the republicans by the insurance industry, which is who gains by capping monetary awards.
Hannity of course insists that he doesn't work off of these talking points. This stretches the limits of reasonable belief. That would mean, that every day, for the past four years, he has coincidentally agreed with everything this administration has done and said. Sean Hannity has no objectivity, which is supposed to be central for a journalist. December 3, 2004: Media Matters reported: Hannity falsely claimed that everyone “got the same amount” from Bush's tax cuts. a June 21, 2004, report by the Tax Policy Center (a joint venture of the nonpartisan Urban Institute and Brookings Institution) documented the dramatic gap in the amount received by the poorest and the wealthiest Americans: While the average annual tax cut for the 14.2 percent of U.S. taxpayers earning less than $10,000 was $19, people earning in excess of $1 million per year received an average tax cut of $136,398. |
