Everyone from Moe Howard from the “Three Stooges” to comedian Totie Fields to KISS bassist Gene Simmons to a two year old Tiger Woods appeared on the afternoon gabfest. However, the one thing I remember most (besides the colorful set, microphones on the sides of the chairs, and Douglas’ “happening” wardrobe in the late 1970s) was the music. Everyone from Frank Zappa to the Beach Boys (singing a Charles Manson penned tune) graced the KYW studio stage. John Lennon and Yoko Ono were even guests co-hosts for a week. Go figure.

Crazy Crazy Nights / same (Mercury 888-796-7). Hard-rock group formed in New York City, New York: Gene Simmons (bass; born on Aug. 25, 1949), Paul Stanley (guitar; born on Jan. 20, 1950), Ace Frehley (lead guitar; born on April 27, 1951) and Peter Criss (drums; born on Dec. 20, 1947). All shared vocals. Noted for elaborate makeup and highly theatrical stage shows; Simmons was made up as "The Bat Lizard", Stanley as "Star Child", Frehley as "Space Man" and Criss as "The Cat". Criss replaced by Eric Carr in 1981. Frehley replaced by Vinnie Vincent in 1982. Group appeared without makeup for the first time in 1983 on the album cover Lick It Up. "Cold Gin" is a song by the American hard rock group Kiss. The song was written by the band's lead guitarist Ace Frehley and is featured on the band's eponymous debut album. The song has gained a status of a Kiss classic song, and is featured on many compilations released by the band. Live versions of the song would be extended for about two minutes due to Ace Frehley's solo. The song was written by Ace Frehley and talks about how cold gin affects on the male sex drive. Ace said he wrote the song while he was in the subway. The song was recorded in 1973 and was one of two songs from the band's debut album written by Ace Frehley, the other being the album's instrumental "Love Theme from KISS", which was written by the whole band. Although "Cold Gin" was never released as single, it has remained a concert staple during the years. The studio version differs a lot from the demo version. In the demo version, after the solo Paul Stanley shouts "Whoa! Alright! C'mon!", but in the studio version, Paul shouts "Whoa yeah!". Also, the second guitar solo was cut and the outro was shortened.
