Haake: Stop the Steal is back
When Donald Trump tells 150 million followers that Vice President Kamala Harris is lying about her crowd size, the mainstream media and the State Department should pay close attention. Trump isn’t just licking his wounded ego, he’s test marketing “Stop the Steal” redux. Trump began spreading false claims about the November 2020 election in April 2020, months before the first vote was cast. Less than a year later, his false claims crescendoed in a violent attack at the U.S. Capitol, costing five people their lives, causing $3 billion in damages, and wounding American democracy. January 6, 2021 — the first and only such attack in U.S. history — was based entirely on Trump’s persistent lies that the Biden campaign engaged in voter fraud and election interference, even as Trump himself committed the crimes he projected. As he begins to chant the same fact-free mantra against Harris in 2024, Act Two has begun, only the names have been changed.

TikTok disinformation is no more dangerous than Fox News disinformation
The question draws nuance from the context. In the context of elections, if Congress interferes with a foreign-owned media platform like TikTok, partly in the name of election security, why should a domestic corporation like Fox News, another
known purveyor of election misinformation, be spared the same scrutiny? The U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to require TikTok to divest its Chinese ownership or be banned in the U.S. because of national security concerns. The security risks identified by the bill’s sponsors include a Chinese law that gives Xi Jinping legal access to user data, along with China’s ability to meddle in U.S. elections. Millions of Americans are influenced by manufactured information campaigns every day. Over the past few years, the most aggressive online disinformation campaigns in the U.S. have targeted COVID-19vaccines, climate science and elections. Pew Research shows that the share of U.S. adults who want the federal government to restrict such false information has risen, from 39 percent in 2018 to 55 percent in 2023. Chris Hayes Airs Rapid-Fire Montage of Fox Hosts Touting Now-Indicted Informant as Credible Source Against the Bidens After months of touting the claims of a former FBI informant who now stands accused of lying to the Bureau, Fox News’ primetime lineup completely ignored this news after it broke on Thursday. Alexander Smirnov was arrested on Thursday and charged with lying to the FBI. Key among his claims was that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden illicitly received $5 million each from Ukrainian energy company Burisma while Joe was vice president and Hunter served on Burisma’s board. The payments, according to Smirnov, were meant to “protect” Burisma from corruption investigations. Republicans have falsely claimed that Joe Biden used his leverage as vice president to get the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor who was probing Burisma. However, the prosecutor was fired for not investigating corruption in the country. (Media-ite 2/16/24) READ MORE>>>>> |

The judge blamed you': Fox News host turns tables on Alina Habba over Stormy Daniels
Fox News host Bill Hemmer confronted Alina Habba, Donald Trump's attorney, after a New York judge blamed the former president's legal team for not objecting enough during the trial. During a Wednesday interview on Fox News, co-host Dana Perino noted that New York Justice Juan Merchan agreed that some of Stormy Daniels' testimony went too far in Trump's hush money case. Daniels testified about her alleged affair with the former president.
"Yeah, this is the problem here," said Habba, Trump's former lawyer who is now a spokesperson. "And the judge did try and put guardrails with the prosecution and say that these are the guardrails."

‘Why Doesn’t It Start Now?’: Hugh Hewitt Presses James Lankford On Delay In Border Wall Under Senate Deal
Radio host Hugh Hewitt on Monday pressed Republican Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma, the lead GOP negotiator on a bipartisan border security bill that was released on Sunday, about the bill’s lack of provisions mandating the construction of a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico. The bipartisan bill, titled the “Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024,” would appropriate $118 billion in total for a variety of matters, including aid to Ukraine during its war against Russia and Israel during its conflict with Hamas, as well as border security, though it does not mandate the construction of a border wall. Lankford, during an appearance on Hewitt’s show, defended the bill’s text by claiming that it ensures a wall construction is “protected for the next administration,” enabling a future Republican administration to utilize the authority to construct it.

Christie badgered by conservative radio host over whether he’ll drop out to help Haley
Mr Christie rejected that assertion out of hand on Thursday when he sat down for an interview with Hugh Hewitt, a conservative broadcaster and perennial debate moderator. The ex-governor retorted that his campaign’s polling indicated that were he to drop out of the race, many of his voters would stay home rather than support Ms Haley or Mr DeSantis — and some would even back Mr Trump. Hewitt pressed him relentlessly on the issue, however, and in the end, the entire 10-minute interview was largely centred on his badgering of Mr Christie to get out of the race and, presumably, endorse Ms Haley. Newsmax Host Calls TikTok Ban ‘The Dumbest Legislation I’ve Seen Yet’ After Majority of Republicans Vote in Favor
Newsmax host Carl Higbie tore into House Republicans on Wednesday for voting for a bill that could effectively ban the popular app TikTok, calling it “the dumbest legislation I’ve seen yet.” Reacting to the success of the bill on his show Carl Higbie Frontline, Higbie protested, “In order to stop the influence from China, the U.S. government, or at least Congress, has become more like China.” After confessing that he was “super nervous about the precedent” that the bill could set, Higbie said: I’ll be honest, at first I thought, hey, maybe this might be a good idea to cut off China’s influence, but then I got to thinking about it. The language in this bill, at least what I’ve read, is super broad and will absolutely, absolutely 100% be used to shut down media that whoever’s in charge doesn’t agree with. This is a Trojan Horse. October 2024: Caitlin Huey-Burns reported on Face The Nation: Campaigning at an airport hangar near Pittsburgh, former President Trump ramped up his attacks on the current administration and his opponent, Kamala Harris. Trump lost Pennsylvania in 2020, and he wants it back. The state's 19 electoral votes are up for grabs, with CBS News polling showing a dead heat. Trump spent more than ten minutes off script, with an unusual tribute to the legendary pro golfer and Pennsylvanian, Arnold Palmer, the namesake of the rally's venue. And last week, when one potential voter expressed concern about his handling of January 6th, Trump was defiant. Trump is campaigning across Pennsylvania again today, and his comments are providing more fodder for his opponent, Kamala Harris.
