July 28, 2023: Los Angeles Times:
Meisner, who died of heart disease on Wednesday at age 77, joined Buffalo Springfield in the spring of 1968, when the band’s country-rock hybrid was the toast of L.A., but almost immediately left with Richie Furay to start Poco, and played on their celebrated first album. Meisner also toured and recorded with Rick Nelson in his impressive Stone Canyon Band. He’d had more success than his Eagles mates Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Bernie Leadon, and Marc Eliot, in his book “To the Limit: The Untold Story of the Eagles,” wrote that Frey “felt privileged to be able to play with” Meisner. The title of Eliot’s book acknowledges the important place of Meisner’s best-known song, 1974’s “Take It to the Limit,” in the success, durability and mythos of the Eagles. It’s not just one of the most popular and best songs by the bestselling American band of all time, it’s one of the best-sung songs in the Eagles’ catalog, or anyone else’s, a controlled, soulful masterpiece.

INGELWOOD, CA (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 28, 2013
The Eagles Forum concerts will serve to officially reopen the Los Angeles Forum for its new owners, the Madison Square Garden Company. These three shows in January 2014 look to cap the Eagles Tour 2013 with a special flare as the Forum seeks to reintroduce the venue with a grand splash. Tickets for these Eagles concerts go on sale for the public to buy today.
Formerly known as a top spot for concerts, the Los Angeles Forum once hosted the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and The Eagles. In fact, some of the songs from the live Eagles album came from recordings at Eagles concerts at the Forum. In addition, the Los Angeles Forum, technically in Inglewood, California, played home to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings. Everything changed for the Forum after the opening of the Staples Center. At one time the Forum acted as a huge church. Recently Madison Square Garden Company bought the Forum with an eye toward returning the facility to its place as a great concert hall. Before they finish, Madison Square Garden plans a 100 million dollar renovation of the Forum. They hope the Eagles Forum shows only represent the first chapter on a very long new history for the former Great Western Forum.
The Eagles and Madison Square Garden come to this announcement as much more friends than strangers. In November 2013 the Eagles Madison Square Garden concert events in New York City include three tour dates that rank as some of the hottest tickets on the resale market. Elton John Madison Square Garden tickets just went on sale for the public to buy yesterday as well with four Phish tour dates to wrap up the year at MSG.
The Eagles tour 2013, known as the History Of The Eagles Tour, got underway in early July and continues through late November 2013. Along the way, The Eagles play tour dates all over the United States and Canada. Band members participating in the History Of The Eagles Tour 2013 include Glenn Frey on vocals, guitars, keyboards, harmonica; Don Henley on vocals, drums, percussion, guitar; Joe Walsh on guitars, vocals, keyboards and Timothy B. Schmit on bass, vocals, acoustic guitar. With many calling this a final tour or farewell tour, fans drained the box office of tickets in many locations leaving sold out shows. For an idea of what songs you might hear on the concert, check out the Eagles Tour Set List from recent shows so far. Note that the band announced they will play some songs they never played live before at the Eagles Forum concerts in Los Angeles. If Los Angeles looks like too far a drive, get some plane tickets and a hotel near LAX to make a weekend of it.
While the time for these concerts quickly approaches, fans still have time to buy tickets. Many of these Eagles tickets may be purchased with an E-Ticket option, meaning a paper ticket for the show may be printed right from the computer of the purchaser immediately after the easy online sales transaction. The printed tickets and computer systems at the arenas, like the Eagles Chicago area show at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL or American Airline Arena in Dallas, make using the tickets printed at home as easy as standard tickets from the box office. With the 125% ticket guarantee of authenticity and guaranteed admission to the Eagles concert, fans need not be concerned about an E-ticket if they may never have used one. In addition to E-Ticket options, many tickets may still be shipped via next day, picked up near the venue or even mailed through the USPS for some of the shows where time still allows. Buying tickets on the street before a show has become a gamble, inviting fraud, resulting in both losing money and not seeing the concert; play it safe and buy last minute tickets from a trusted source owned by a company with a longstanding excellent history with the BBB.
The Eagle Tour 2013 site, in conjunction with Tickets-Cheapest.com, operates in the ticket resale market, similar to sites like Stub Hub, which concert fans may be familiar with, only with cheaper prices than other such sites. Often Tickets-Cheapest.com sells the exact same seats as other resale sites, and in an exact seat price comparison, Tickets-Cheapest.com proved its rights to the name by beating 25 out of 25 competitors for low-priced tickets. Give EaglesTour2013.com and Financial Firebird's Cheap Tickets sites a try for great prices to see great performances. Eagles Los Angeles tickets go on sale for the public to buy on September 28, 2013, but fans can purchase some Eagles tickets early at EaglesTour2013.com and Tickets-Cheapest.com to get their seats reserved in advance.

Nov 24, 2022: Al.com: Eagles in Birmingham: What was it like to see the classic rock band at Legacy Arena?
The Eagles? Iconic in the music world.
The BJCC’s arena? An institution in Alabama, for sure.
But at the 50-year mark (or close to it), it’s natural to ask the question: Is it time for either of them to call it quits? Is the veteran band still vibrant? Is the venerable venue worth the trip?
Music lovers here received an answer this week — and a resounding one — when the Eagles returned to Birmingham‘s arena (now known as the Legacy Arena at the BJCC) for a stop on the “Hotel California” tour. Here’s what we learned at the show on Monday, Nov. 21.

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1971 by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner.
With seven number one singles, six Grammys, five American Music Awards, and six number one albums, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s. At the end of the 20th century, two of their albums, Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) and Hotel California, ranked among the 20 best-selling albums in the U.S. according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Hotel California is ranked 37th in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and the band was ranked No. 75 on the magazine's 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. They have the best-selling album in the U.S. with Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975), which sold approximately 42 million copies worldwide. They have sold over 120 million albums worldwide, and 100 million in the U.S. alone. They are the fifth-highest-selling music act and highest-selling American band in U.S. history. No other American band sold more records than the Eagles during the 1970s. |
