Discovery (WBD), CNN was the first television channel to provide 24-hour news coverage and the first all-news television channel in the United States. As of February 2023, CNN had 80 million television households as subscribers in the US. According to Nielsen, in June 2021 CNN ranked third in viewership among cable news networks, behind Fox News and MSNBC, averaging 580,000 viewers throughout the day, down 49% from a year earlier, amid sharp declines in viewers across all cable news networks. While CNN ranked 14th among all basic cable networks in 2019, then jumped to 7th during a major surge for the three largest cable news networks (completing a rankings streak of Fox News at number 5 and MSNBC at number 6 for that year), it settled back to number 11 in 2021 and had further declined to number 21 in 2022

CNN’s Jim Acosta Suggests Trump Is ‘Politicizing’ Thirteen Service Members By Visiting Arlington National Cemetery
CNN anchor Jim Acosta suggested that Republican nominee Donald Trump is “politicizing” the deaths of the 13 service members killed in Kabul, Afghanistan, by visiting Arlington National Cemetery on Monday. Trump attended a ceremony to commemorate the three-year anniversary of the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, where a suicide explosion killed 13 U.S. service members outside the Hamid Karzai International Airport. Acosta questioned whether Trump’s arrival at the cemetery was simply a political statement — without mentioning President Joe Biden’s vacation during the anniversary.
“[I]s he politicizing these soldiers’ deaths? Should he even be at Arlington National Cemetery if he’s gonna make some politics out of this?” Acosta asked Democratic Colorado Rep. Jason Crow.

Opinion: The real loser in Thursday’s debate
CNN Opinion asked political contributors to weigh in on the first presidential debate of the 2024 race. The views expressed in these commentaries are their own.
Ana Marie Cox: What broke my heart the most about Biden’s performance: With President Joe Biden’s first halting, marble-mouthed words, my heart and my hope that America will dodge a second hit of former President Donald Trump sank — even lower than the minimal expectations most of us had for Biden. It is one thing to joke that all Biden had to do to ease voters’ minds was to stay somewhat alert for the duration of the debate. It is another thing to see him appear to struggle to do so.

CNN’s Christiane Amanpour: ‘We are not impartial…we should be truthful’
“The Amanpour Hour,” a weekly CNN show focused on news from around the world, debuted Nov. 5, 2023, creating a different take on the network’s international anchor’s existing brand name. The Saturday morning hour is hosted by CNN chief international anchor Christiane Amanpour, who has managed to create a brand around her last name — including using the name by itself as a handle on various social media platforms — so it makes sense to leverage that as part of the title, which also has unique alliteration thanks to how “H” is pronounced in the word “hour.” (Press-Gazette 5/17/24) READ MORE>>>>>

CNN Refers To Marjorie Taylor Greene As “Savvy Information Warrior” And She Likes It
U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) filed a motion to vacate House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) that now has the support of a handful of her fellow right-wing colleagues. Those aligning with Greene include Rep.
