'Not a smart question': Trump insults CNN's Kaitlan Collins for challenging crash blame
President Donald Trump threw insults at CNN's Kaitlan Collins Thursday as she took him to task over attempts to cast blame for the plane crash that killed 67 people in Washington, D.C. Speaking to the press from the White House, Trump had blamed previous presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama for policies he said led to the crash, before laying into diversity policies that he claimed had put disabled people in charge of air traffic control. Collins asked him if that was fitting, considering the details of what caused the crash were barely known.

‘Can We Not?’ Kaitlan Collins Accuses Scott Jennings of Whitewashing Trump’s Boycott of Biden Inauguration
A CNN panel discussion about notable absences from President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration ended with Kaitlan Collins accusing Scott Jennings of trying to bait her. On Thursday, it was reported that Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi will skip the inauguration on Monday. Former First Lady Michelle Obama will also forgo the event. “I think we can’t be too precious about this,” Karen Finney said. “I mean, considering Donald Trump didn’t go four years ago after an insurrection where he tried to overturn the election.” (MediaIte 1/16/25) READ MORE>>>>>
Immunity isn't in the Constitution': CNN's Kaitlan Collins shuts down Trump attorney live
Donald Trump's absolute immunity case had its day in the highest court in the land on Thursday and despite the Supreme Court justices' overall dim reaction — his attorneys are still thundering with absolute certainty they're right. Attorney William Scharf, a Republican candidate in Missouri's attorney general race, appeared opposite CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins to bang former president's drum that he should be untouchable in his official acts as president. He attempted to tamp down on what he called a "parade of horribles," referring to some of the hypotheticals that have been raised by Supreme Court justices and before that the three-judge panel of the D.C. Court of Appeals — about granting the president with blanket immunity to for instance assassinate political rivals or launch military coups.  (MSN 4/26/24)  READ MORE>>>>>
January 30, 2025:
January 30, 2025: Collins to Donald Trump: "We don't know the names of the 67 people who were killed, and you are blaming Democrats and DEI and air traffic control and seemingly the member of the U.S. military who was flying that Black Hawk helicopter. Don't you think you're getting ahead of the investigation right now?"
Trump : "No, I don't think so at all. I don't think the names of the people, you mean the names of the people that are on the plane? Uh, you think that's going to make a difference? I think that's not a very smart question. I'm surprised, coming from you."
Collins: "Are you blaming yourself?"
Trump: "Please, please."
January 17, 2024: Fox News reported: CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins stood by the now-infamous 2023 Trump town hall that became the epicenter of controversy both inside and outside the network, arguing the likely Republican presidential nominee can't be ignored.  Back in May, Collins had a combative exchange with former President Trump, who broke his longstanding boycott of CNN to participate in a televised town hall with an audience full of his supporters. The two of them sparred over several topics, including Jan. 6 as well as his repeated claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.  In an interview with Elle magazine published Wednesday, Collins argued Trump would have gotten the attention he seeks regardless of whether CNN did the town hall.
December 30, 2023: New York Post reported: Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley dropped the ball Saturday in the Hawkeye State, confusing all-world University of Iowa basketball player Caitlin Clark — with CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins. Ahead of the Lady Hawkeyes game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, Hailey tried to heap praise on the No. 4-ranked team at a tailgating event in Coralville — but ended up mistakenly referring to point guard Clark as Collins.

-“Journalism largely consists in saying "Lord Jones is dead" to people who never knew Lord Jones was alive.”  ― G.K. Chesterton
“So much for Objective Journalism. Don't bother to look for it here--not under any byline of mine; or anyone else I can think of. With the possible exception of things like box scores, race results, and stock market tabulations, there is no such thing as Objective Journalism. The phrase itself is a pompous contradiction in terms.”― Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72
“People sometimes imagine that just because they have access to so many newspapers, radio and TV channels, they will get an infinity of different opinions. Then they discover that things are just the opposite: the power of these loudspeakers only amplifies the opinion prevalent at a certain time, to the point where it covers any other opinion.”   ― Amin Maalouf, The First Century After Beatrice
“Heartless gossips pose as professional press, they get a few quotes and run with the story like Seabiscuit to the finish line. They’re nothing more than conmen, salesmen, pitchmen, pompous men professing to be of public service—and they have the freedom to do so. There’s no price to pay.”  ― Pamela L Hamilton, Lady Be Good Lib/E: The Life and Times of Dorothy Hale
