Key hostage negotiator Roger Carstens ripped up criticism of his Thursday prison exchange with Russia as “not proving true” after senior Republicans claimed that exchanging Russian criminals to acquire civilian hostages would incentivize more hostage-taking in the future.n Carstens, who was kept on as special presidential envoy for hostage affairs by the Biden administration from the Trump administration and who previously worked to free former Marine Trevor Reed and WNBA star Brittney Griner from Russian detention, reflected on his role in helping orchestrate the most recent prisoner swap—the largest between the West and Russia since the Cold War ended. The Worst of Tapper and Bash: CNN Debate Moderators Lurch Left
On Wednesday it was announced that CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will moderate the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden on June 27. Tapper Rips Hannity’s SOTU Response: ‘Pick a Lane’
Jake Tapper on Friday criticized conservatives like Sean Hannity after the Fox News host, who has long
attacked President Joe Biden as “Sleepy Joe,” said the president was too energetic during his State of the Union address. On The Lead, the CNN anchor noted that prior to Thursday’s address, Republicans had been saying that Biden was “old, weak, gaffe-prone, senile, a pushover.” Tapper then played a clip of Hannity pivoting away from his usual description of Biden, and instead calling him “Jacked-up Joe” who “sounded like a hyper-caffeinated, angry old man.” (Daily Beast 3/8.24) READ MORE>>>>>

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has defended the news outlet for not airing Donald Trump’s speech following his victory in the Iowa caucuses.
Ms Maddow said that MSNBC could not air “lies” to its viewers while adding the network and other news outlets only care about reporting the truth. “The reason I’m saying this is, of course, there is a reason that we and other news organizations have generally stopped giving an unfiltered, live platform to remarks by former President Trump,” she said. CNN host Jake Tapper was also heard interrupting Trump’s speech as the former president spoke about the border crisis. “A relatively subdued speech as the things go so far. Although, here he is, right now, under my voice. You can hear him repeating his anti-immigrant rhetoric,” Mr Tapper said. |

Z NEWS NOTE: Of course the American Right Wing always believes in the First Amendment except when they don't. I don't have to agree with everything Rachel Maddow says but I endorse her right to say it. Personally I dont believe Trump should be given any air time to air his self imposed grievances and that is all his rallies have become: grievance, hatred, and anger. And, of course, his letting you know he is doing that for YOU. #doh
Fox News, Sean Hannity responded to Maddow in an article titled Does Rachel Maddow not have any self-awareness at all? : He wrote: "As you just heard during his victory speech, Donald Trump struck what was a unifying tone. Uh, but apparently, according to part-time make-believe journalists and full-time left-wing, hate Trump conspiracy theorists like radical Rachel Maddow" Funny how they project "conspiracy theorist" back at her when most of the time Hannity spends his whole show (Now coming from Florida) creating conspiracies to push on his mostly uneducated viewers. The he writes: "No one in the media mob has peddled more lies, more conspiracy theories than Rachel Maddow." That, of course, is funny because between Hannity, Watters and Ingraham they have the corner on pushing faux conspiracies. But they have competition from Newsmax and dozens of right wing bloggers who , for need of traffic to fund their click bait, know that the ones who will swallow the lies the most are Maga (uneducated, of course).

Conservative attorney George Conway challenged Jake Tapper’s claim that Friday’s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court was a “big win” for Donald Trump. I don’t think it’s a big deal.” (Jennifer Bowers Bahney/MediaIte 12/22/23)
