The Fox News Channel (FNC), commonly known as Fox News, is an American multinational conservative news and political commentary television channel and website based in New York City. It is owned by Fox News Media, which itself is owned by the Fox Corporation. It is the most-watched cable news network in the U.S., and as of 2023 generates approximately 70% of its parent company's pre-tax profit. The channel broadcasts primarily from studios at 1211 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan. Fox News provides a service to 86 countries and territories, with international broadcasts featuring Fox Extra segments during advertising breaks. The channel was created by Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch in 1996 to appeal to a conservative audience, hiring former Republican media consultant and CNBC executive Roger Ailes as its founding CEO. It launched on October 7, 1996, to 17 million cable subscribers. Fox News grew during the late 1990s and 2000s to become the dominant United States cable news subscription network. By September 2018, 87 million U.S. households (91 percent of television subscribers) could receive Fox News. In 2019, it was the top-rated cable network, averaging 2.5 million viewers in prime time. Murdoch, the executive chairman since 2016, said in 2023 that he would step down and hand responsibilities to his son, Lachlan. Suzanne Scott has been the CEO since 2018. “Within 24 hours of Jesse Watters voluntarily reporting to the Chief of Human Resources in November 2017 that he was in a consensual relationship with a woman on his staff, management met with both parties and a decision was made for the woman to be transferred to work on another program on the network where she currently remains.” DiGiovine works for The Ingraham Angle now, but she and Watters are still seeing each other. It isn’t clear whether Watters has custody over his twin daughters with Noelle, or if they are currently living with his estranged wife. Neither of their attorneys offered any comment. The news of Watter’s adultery comes after Fox went through years of shake-ups due to multiple sex scandals. These incidents resulted in the ousters of major figures like Eric Bolling, Roger Ailes, and Watters’ old mentor, Bill O’Reilly.

Speaking on Fox News, Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy echoed the narrative that the legal cases against former President Donald Trump, who was indicted by four separate grand juries and faces 80-plus felony charges for numerous alleged crimes including trying to steal the 2020 election, are illegitimate. McCarthy starts out the interview by saying “Let me ask everybody in America — does anybody in America believe President Trump would be on trial today if he wasn’t running for President?” McCarthy answers the question himself. “Nobody believes that,” McCarthy asserts.????
Clearly McCarthy is still very much out of touch with reality. I, personally, believe that more than half the country knows Donald Trump's court hearings and indictments are not politically motivated. I will say that politics has become a modern day past time that a lot of Americans are paying attention to....but there's no groundswell of stupid outside the group who readily and without provocation proclaim themselves as the best thing for America, and, of course, I am speaking about the Maga wing of the GOP. There is a wing of the GOP that is not Maga...but Maga-noise is louder. ---

SINKING SHIPS & CAPTAIN JESSE WATTERS?
Wonkette reports: “And if you’re going to accuse someone of having sex with a couch, you better have video!” said Jesse, a weird guy. AND IF YOU HAVE VIDEO, YOU BETTER GIVE IT TO JESSE WATTERS! Dunno what he’ll do with it, probably something journalistic." Scary thing about this is that typical Jesse Watters, who also said today that "When a man votes for a woman, he actually transitions into a woman."🙄 Well, he said he heard it from a scientist. (No disclosure of which one since there is more than one scientist in the world....and he may be oblivious to that fact.) Fox News anchors must have one of the easiest jobs for people who claim to be journalists. They have nothing to research, or question, the just need to show up, make up some stupid stuff, report it, then go home. Watters observation about Kamala Harris is that she is a "radical lunatic" from California. If someone knew anything about radical lunatics, one might think that Watters would be the one to know. But, he doesn't know he's a lunatic and as long as he is getting paid for doing whatever it is he does....that's all that matters to him.
In a Monday night segment on Fox News, host Jesse Watters highlighted how Democrats such as Vice President Kamala Harris, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and others are aligning in a “coordinated attack” that Trump’s vice presidential candidate is just plain weird. However, Watters just made a supercut that did nothing to push back on the talking point. As Rolling Stone points out, the host’s attempt to dispel the controversy by playing the compilation is the perfect example of the Streisand effect, or when you try to hide something but end up only drawing more attention to it. By highlighting the couch controversy and politicians calling the vice presidential candidate weird, Watters is only making the situation worse for Vance. To be clear, Vance did not have sex with a couch. But his off-putting nature may be a liability for the Trump campaign. Vance speaks with a forked tongue. But that doesnt stop him from speaking. If he has a sense of self-worth, it is small, and he has to make it up by talking and talking and talking..... October 9, 2024:

Fox forced Grossberg to take administrative leave after she filed the lawsuits.

Despite paying nearly $800,000,000 for admittedly lying to viewers about the 2020 election, Fox continues to falsely portray Trump’s trial, while embellishing stories like the “border invasion” to harm Trump’s political rivals. During voir dire, Jesse Watters, a Fox News commentator,
announced on Fox that “They are catching undercover Liberal Activists lying to the Judge in order to get on the Trump Jury,” painting Trump as a victim of the “deep state.” There was, and remains, no evidence of liberal activists trying to get on the jury. (Daily Kos 4/28/24) READ MORE>>>>>
TikTok disinformation is no more dangerous than Fox News disinformation
The question draws nuance from the context. In the context of elections, if Congress interferes with a foreign-owned media platform like TikTok, partly in the name of election security, why should a domestic corporation like Fox News, another known purveyor of election misinformation, be spared the same scrutiny? The U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to require TikTok to divest its Chinese ownership or be banned in the U.S. because of national security concerns. The security risks identified by the bill’s sponsors include a Chinese law that gives Xi Jinping legal access to user data, along with China’s ability to meddle in U.S. elections. Millions of Americans are influenced by manufactured information campaigns every day. Over the past few years, the most aggressive online disinformation campaigns in the U.S. have targeted COVID-19vaccines, climate science and elections. Pew Research shows that the share of U.S. adults who want the federal government to restrict such false information has risen, from 39 percent in 2018 to 55 percent in 2023. Fox News slapped with defamation suit for smearing innocent man as 'neo-Nazi murderer'
A Texas man has sued Fox News, Newsmax and other right-wing media outlets for falsely smearing him as a "neo-Nazi murderer" following a mass shooting last year at an outlet mall. The lawsuit alleges that Fox News, Newsmax, Univision,
Timcast, Steven Crowder, Owen Shroyer, Simon Ateba and Hollywood Unlocked all falsely identified 36-year-old Mauricio Garcia as the gunman who killed nine people and wounded seven others May 6, 2023, at Allen Premium Outlets. The actual shooter was a 33-year-old man with the same name who was later killed by police in the same area on an unrelated call. (Raw Story 4/12/24) READ MORE>>>>>

Fox News Star Calls State Department Officials “Arrogant Punks”
At the U.S. State Department daily press briefing Department spokesperson Matthew Miller addressed concerns over Israel’s second military operation at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, saying: “We generally don’t want to see Israel operating inside hospitals in Gaza. We want hospitals to be protected sites.”At the same time, Miller acknowledged the complexities inherent in conducting the war, saying: “It would be great if Hamas stopped hiding behind civilians and stopped hiding inside civilian infrastructures including hospitals.” Miller also stressed that “Israel needs to have a sustainable, long term strategy when it comes to Gaza. It’s not enough to just clear certain neighborhoods or hospitals, or any other geographic areas or buildings of Hamas.” Fox News star Mark Levin, the pro-Trump host of the weekend show Life, Liberty & Levin, responded to a news summary of the State Department press briefing by writing, “Desist these arrogant candy a** punks lecturing Israel on what it should do.” (2Paragraphs 4/3/24) READ MORE>>>>> |
Fox News Goes After Judge in Trump’s Hush-Money Trial for Him
Donald Trump has attacked the judge in his hush-money trial so much that it earned him a massive gag order. Now Fox News is defending Trump by justifying the attacks. “The judge is threatening to put Trump in jail by pointing out that his liberal family is getting rich off this trial,” Fox host Jesse Watters said Tuesday night. “He just wants a new judge—one whose family isn’t funded by Democrats.” Trump’s attacks go far beyond simply requesting a new judge. The Republican presidential nominee has repeatedly attacked Judge Juan Merchan, his daughter, and his court staff and their families.

Fox Contributor Slams Tucker Carlson, Compares Him to 1960s Conspiracy Theorist Who Was ‘Excommunicated’ From the ‘Respectable Right’
Fox News contributor and Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen took a swipe at ousted Fox opinion host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday after a right-wing activist argued Carlson was once “a successful coordinating mechanism for the Right.” Christopher Rufo commented on the infighting within the right on X and wrote, “When Tucker had his primetime slot on Fox, he served as a successful coordinating mechanism for the Right. He set the agenda with his monologue, shaped the bounds of discourse, and brought in new voices to illustrate specific lines of argument. It will be interesting to see if Tucker, or Fox, can reprise this role, or if it has fragmented online in a more fundamental way.”

Fox News Host Links Biden’s Love of Ice Cream to Alzheimer’s Disease: ‘You See What’s Going on Here?’

Ahead of Monday’s airing of Late Night with Seth Meyers, on which Biden was a guest, the president patronized a shop with Meyers and told reporters he hopes there will be a ceasefire in Gaza “by next Monday” as Israel continues its invasion and bombing campaign in the territory after the Oct. 7 attacks. Chris Hayes Airs Rapid-Fire Montage of Fox Hosts Touting Now-Indicted Informant as Credible Source Against the Bidens
After months of touting the claims of a former FBI informant who now stands accused of lying to the Bureau, Fox News’ primetime lineup completely ignored this news after it broke on Thursday. Alexander Smirnov was arrested on
Thursday and charged with lying to the FBI. Key among his claims was that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden illicitly
received $5 million each from Ukrainian energy company Burisma while Joe was vice president and Hunter served on Burisma’s board. The payments, according to Smirnov, were meant to “protect” Burisma from corruption investigations. Republicans have falsely claimed that Joe Biden used his leverage as vice president to get the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor who was probing Burisma. However, the prosecutor was fired for not investigating corruption in the country. (Media-ite 2/16/24) READ MORE>>>>>

Border Patrol union president Brandon Judd to Fox: Republicans are against the border bill for “political purposes”
BRANDON JUDD (NATIONAL BORDER PATROL COUNCIL): Well, nothing's changed my mind. I still agree with that. We need the president to enforce the law. But absent him enforcing the law, we do need bills that's going to force him to do that. I'm looking at this from real-world application. Right now, as we speak, there are no caps to illegal immigration. As many people that cross the border illegally, we have to take them into custody. Under this bill, there would be a cap at five thousand. So if we look at December, we had twelve thousand daily apprehensions. This would cap it at five thousand. And that cap does not mean that we release five thousand. But then let's look at yesterday. Yesterday, we apprehended sixty-five hundred people that entered the country illegally. Though of those sixty-five hundred people, at least 85% are being released. Under this bill, at least 60% of those people would have been held in custody pending a removal proceeding. So there's a lot less people that get released under this bill. So there's a lot of things in there. There's a lot of, mechanisms that are good. So real-world application. If we were to apply this bill today, we wouldn't be releasing even close to what we're releasing right now. (Media Matters 2/6/24) READ MORE>>>>>

Fox News hosts decried a Law & Order SVU plotline that never happened
On the January 30 edition of his prime-time show, Fox News host Jesse Watters accused NBC’s Law and Order SVU of “prioritiz[ing] social justice over actual justice” after an episode of the show acknowledged systemic inequities Black individuals face in the criminal justice system.. Watters summarized the episode, explaining a rape victim was resiting testifying against her rapist because “the white lesbian rape victim is worried that her young Black rapist won't receive a fair trial because the criminal justice system is racist." Fox News is pretending its 'lovers quarrel' with Trump 'never happened': ex-GOP strategist

Trump was especially critical of Fox News' Rupert Murdoch, who reportedly, was enthusiastic about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a presidential candidate. But that enthusiasm faded when DeSantis' presidential campaign floundered.
