He was 53. Deloire had been battling sudden and aggressive cancer and died in Paris surrounded by loved ones, according to board members of Reporters Without Borders, also known by its French acronym RSF. Deloire was “a tireless defender, on every continent, of the freedom, independence and pluralism of journalism, in a context of information chaos,” RSF said in a statement. Stewart’s body was found outdoors in a northern Virginia neighborhood Saturday morning, law enforcement told CNN. Janice Glynn, a longtime anchor at WPRI 12, passed away over the weekend. She was 69 years old. Glynn anchored WPRI’s 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts from 1984 to 1989 alongside Walter Cryan. She was featured on the cover of the first issue of Rhode Island Monthly, along with other local news anchors.

Australian journalist and documentary filmmaker John Pilger has died at the age of 84, his family have announced.
Pilger was known for his work covering the aftermath of Pol Pot's regime in Cambodia and also looked into the Thalidomide scandal along with his war correspondent work. He worked for the Daily Mirror, ITV's former investigative programme World In Action and Reuters. (Jay Akbar/ITV 12/31/23)
