"And during the debate, I mentioned that and David Muir, a real lightweight. I had one against three, but I think we did great. But David Muir of ABC, fake news, when I said that crime is way up in our country, he corrected me, he corrected me and so much and it was right what I said. He didn't correct [Kamala Harris] one time, and what she said was wrong, absolutely wrong. So many different— Charlottesville, she was wrong, all of the different things, almost everything she said, and she was never corrected. But he corrected me on crime. He said, ‘No, no, crime has not gone up.' I said crime has gone up massively. He said, 'I'd like to state for the record that crime has not gone up."Now you don't know this, but we had a deal with ABC that there will be no corrections of any kind, and they violated the deal. Why? Because they're bad people, and they're fake news. So he did it many times to me during the debate. He violated the deal. That's the deal, because you can take anything and try and make up stories with it. We had a deal where that wouldn't happen. You could do whatever you wanted as soon as the debate was over, but he did it in total violation of what our agreement was. And a lot of people standing right over there [as he looked toward his staff] will tell you exactly what it was, will show you what it was. David Muir has lost all credibility.......(On Linsey David)....I never heard of her. I never want to hear of her. She was terrible. I don't know how she ever got her job in the first place. But we have a country to save, and we can't have fake news like that. And his ratings deserve to go down." --Donald Trump, speaking from Trump Tower in New York City 9/26/24
FCC Chair Responds to Trump’s Demand to Shut Down ABC After Debate
The chair of the Federal Communications Commission flat-out rejected Donald Trump’s call for ABC to lose its broadcasting licenses over the way its moderators treated him during his debate against Kamala Harris on the network earlier this month. In an interview with Fox & Friends after the Sept. 10 debate, the Republican nominee claimed he’d faced a “rigged deal” in the debate, complaining the moderators were “correcting everything” he was saying while failing to fact-check Harris. “They ought to take away their license for the way they did that,” he said at the time. Sens. Ed Markey (D-MA) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) wrote to FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel last week asking her to denounce Trump’s “lawless proposal.” “The First Amendment is a cornerstone of our democracy,” Rosenworcel replied Thursday. “The Commission does not revoke licenses for broadcast stations simply because a political candidate disagrees with or dislikes content or coverage.” She added that her agency licenses “broadcast stations in a manner consistent with the Constitution” and other laws. “There are no exceptions,” Rosenworcel wrote.(Daily Beast 9/20/24) READ MORE>>>>>

Trump Not Sure Whether Debate on ABC Will Be Fair
Sean Hannity interviewed Donald Trump at a town hall event hosted by Fox News in Pennsylvania Wednesday night, and one of the most headline-grabbing things the former president said had to do with next week's debate, which will also be held in Philadelphia and hosted by ABC News. Referring to Kamala Harris' friendship with a Disney executive whose portfolio includes the news organization, Trump suggested Harris is "going to get the questions in advance." Hours before his sit-down with Hannity, campaigns for both presidential candidates had agreed to rules for the debate, which include the stipulation that neither candidate would receive any of the questions or topics in advance, the New York Times reports. “And quite frankly, Republicans should boycott ABC News until George Stephanopoulos is held accountable for the egregious lies he purposely told on air on ABC News this week,” Mace said in a Tuesday interview with Newsmax. “I’m glad that Donald Trump is suing ABC News, and I hope he sues him for every single penny. Maybe $454 million sounds about right for that. I’m going to tell the truth, Donald Trump is going to tell the truth, and we’re not going to take it from a bridge troll with a microphone like George Stephanopoulos.” |
Nancy Mace suggests Republicans boycott ABC News until George Stephanopoulos is ‘held accountable’
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) suggested Republicans ought to boycott ABC News in the wake of a recent interview she did with anchor George Stephanopoulos, voicing her support for a new lawsuit against him and the network. The lawsuit was filed by former President Donald Trump’s attorneys, who have accused Stephanopoulos and the network of defamation and tarnishing Trump’s reputation. On March 10, Stephanopoulos asked Mace why she chose to endorse Trump for president when the former president had been found “liable for rape,” a reference to Trump’s case against author E. Jean Carroll in which he was found liable for “sexual abuse” and not rape. (Washington Examiner 3/20./23) READ MORE>>>>> |
